There are many ways for practicing listening. As a beginner, you can let the recordings on just as a background, which enables you to do anything at the same time. This will help you become familiar with the rhythm and intonation of English language. If you wanna take better advantage of the recordings, you can try to write them down as you listen, try for several times until you can write them down completely. Remember not to look at the text. Also if you wanna improve your listening in a relaxing way, try to watch soap operas such as Friends and The Big Bang Theory without looking at the subtitles.
